North Maluku is a region consisting archipelago of the East Indonesian and has very large for seafood. Fish, coral reefs, shellfish, sea cucumber and seaweed harvested from this area by the people. Caused by a number of islands and calm waves in this region, making North Maluku as a place suitable for seaweed cultivation.

In my visit in the Taliabu island some time ago, I see a huge potential for seaweed cultivation. This area consists of small islands with calm sea conditions, so it is suitable for the cultivation of E.Cottonii seaweed. Taliabu Islands is also a central Cottonii seaweed cultivation, Eucheuma Cottonii In this archipelago of them planted on the island Nggele, Lede and Limbo.

 E.Cottonii origin of North Maluku have large physical size, brightly colored compared to E.Cottonii of South Sulawesi.

Sula Islands (North Maluku) has a lot of stretch of shallow sea with calm waves, seaweed cultivated in this area with a long line culture system. The farmers make huts on the sea to save their crops.
